5 Ways To Brighten Up Your Day

Tired of work or life in general controlling your mood? Instead letting the outside world effect you internally, how about you switch it up and let your mood effect your outside world.

P.S. you only want to do that if you’re in a positive, happy mood.

 

I put together a list of things I implemented in my life, to make my day bright even on a rainy day.

#1 Be observant and aware of your emotions. Acknowledge what stresses you out, and what makes you angry. Pay attention to how those things effect your whole day. The great thing about observing these things is that you have an advantage of being able to solve the things that are bothering you.

 

#2 Change your perspective. If you can’t change the things that are bothering you. Then you have to change your perspective on the situation. You have the power to decide how you feel, so start by deciding to be a little more optimistic. Possibly the problems you are facing are only temporary, maybe it’s helping you be a stronger person, the problems you are facing could be fuel, motivation to make a big change in your life. Looking at your problems from a different perspective can sometimes show you that they are not real problems or problems that can be easily solved.

 

#3 Predict the future. Decide and believe you are going to have a good day before it has even officially started. I do this when I take up an agency jobs, the reality is I don’t like the jobs but for some reason deciding that I am going to have a good day made it so much easier. I honestly have a good day, I think that’s because I believe that I’m going to have a good day. So the night before or the first thing in the morning plan, out your day. With the things that normally bother you, plan in your head that you’re not going to let it bother you. Your day will not go exactly as you planned but because you are conscious and self aware you can manipulate your feelings towards the day.  The way you feel inside can effect what happens outside.

 

#4 Have something to look forward to. You know the feeling you get where the day to your booked holiday is getting closer. Well you should create that feeling with other things not just holidays. Discover your passions again. If you love reading treat yourself to some books. Make time for yourself and do what excites you. Maybe you need something big, like follow your passion and start your own business. Whatever is make sure you have things in your life that you can look forward to. So start planning for your self.

 

#5 Self love, the confidence that everybody needs. Notice how you tolerate things because confidence is stopping you from dealing with it. Confidence is the key to success and happiness, love your self be proud of your achievements, be selfish sometimes. You deserve to be loved and respected, and if you want more people to treat you how you like to be treated, then you have to love and respect yourself to. I’m sure people will love and respect you without you loving yourself. But it is important that you do it will encourage not to put up with being mistreated, it will encourage you to do things that make you happy and it will give you the strength and confidence to do the things you’ve always wanted to do so that most days become bright.

Personal development, is going through a process of being aware of yourself internally and externally. I’m always saying “mindset is everything” and it truly is. Personal development is being aware of our thoughts, emotions, desire and being aware of how we respond and react to situations. Lets get into why someone would need personal development:

Anxiety – You may not be able to see someone experience anxiety, but on the inside they are constantly feeling overwhelmed, living in fear which prevents them from doing a lot of normal things in life. People with anxiety usually struggle with the future, worry about things before they have even happened.

Depression – People with depression often feel, sad and lost. Many people experience depression in some point in there life but some people are unable to come out of depression. They struggle with the past.

Addiction – People with addiction often feel they are lacking something. So instead of connecting with people they connect with things that create temporary relief from whatever truths they are not facing.

Relationships – People having problems with marital relationships or family relationships. Most likely they want to make their relationships work but don’t know how to fix it. Usually they would struggle with communication and understanding different perspectives.

Finance – People wanting to accumulate more money and be successful or people struggling with finances they may have got them into dept. Most likely are struggling in the present or unable to see their future clearly.

Spiritual – People that are feeling lost, and want some clarity. Possibly curious to find there life purpose. Want to be in touch with themselves on a deeper level, searching for a spiritual awakening. People that feel lost often feel like life has come to a stand still and are going with the flow, with no destination.

Going through a journey of personal development will; improve your social abilities, your mental and physical health, your talents, knowledge about yourself, it will also improve your quality of life and happiness.

Persistence, Personal Development

 

The fact of continuing in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.

 

Persistence is the journey of manifestation. Dreaming and thinking of your goal until you have it in plain sight. Persistence is habitual behaviour, not everyone has learnt that trait and that’s okay. You need to find your motivation, your desire. The thing that’s going to trigger you, to get all that you need and want out of life. You get that by finding out who you are and what you want. Because if you’re not 100% sure of who you are, then maybe what you think you want is not what you truly desire.

Persistence guarantees your success if it’s focused in the right direction. For example; your goal could be to lose 15 pounds in weight, by going on a diet. But if you put efforts into the wrong direction you could be persistent in constantly going on a diet, yoyo dieting. Make sure your vision and desire is clear. You want to make sure you are persistent in the right direction. Make your focus directed at positive polarity.

I recently heard a talk from Bob Proctor, “your persistence must be continuously connected to your desired vision”

Persistence keeps you going through every obstacle you can imagine. Believe in your struggle, believe that it will guide you to happiness and success. “If you’re going through hell; keep on going. – Winston Churchill

Understand the law of cause of effect as I believe it will make persistence makes sense. Context determines the content. A quote I read from life purpose info

“Good deeds bring good results.          Bad deeds bring bad results.             Your own deeds bring your own results”

For example growing a tomato, the context what you put in such as; the seed, the soil, water and the light. The content is the growth of the tomato. Own effort, own result.

Use persistence to work for you and not against you. “The power plant doesn’t have energy, it generates energy.”

My summary of being persistent, is to have the image of your goal in your subconscious mind. Then focus on your behaviour, act on that image and be persistent to make it your reality. Have a high level of expectancy, believe it is possible and that you have the strength to make it happen.

Hope this inspired you to go after your dreams. Remember everyday is a new slate, don’t live with regrets.

Patience, Self Mastering

The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.

Patience is a skill that I am still learning and practicing. I can sometimes start something and not finish because I can be impatient at times. Patience is important, it is part of self mastering, it prepares us for great things to come. It challenges us to stop looking at the time. Time is precious and it is a powerful gift we all have been given. We have a start and we have an end. What we do in between is entirely up to us. We can do whatever we choose to do with our time. But patience, we don’t all have it. It takes mental strength and discipline. Patience allows us to be aware, enjoy the process of life. Inside every successful person is a patient individual.

Have patience everything is difficult before it is easy.

If you find yourself to be impatient, don’t focus on how long you have to wait. Focus on what you are going to do while you wait. You cannot manipulate time, but you can change your attitude towards it. The positive thing about delays or waiting is that it makes you more aware of time. The negative part is that waiting can cause annoyance, anger or anxiety. Take the precious time you have to be self aware. Accept the current situation or hard journey in your life and think of ways how you can make it a little bit better. Maybe change the way you feel about the situation and be content with it. That does require mental strength but that can be self taught. Anger and anxiety can take up a lot of your energy and a lot of your thoughts, and it does not have to be like that.

Perspective; How Your Perspective Can Change Your Life

 

Perspective definition: a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.

 

Understanding the effect of perspective will make you think twice about how you continue to live your life.

In this  beautiful world we have pessimistic and optimistic personalities and then you have the realist that are just logical about everything. All three of these types of people would have a different perspective on the same thing.

For example, ‘you and your best friend went abroad to go to a festival, and your best friend got mad at you because your phone was off and she/he could not find you anywhere’

What one person could take from this situation is that your best friend is over reacting as they have no right to be mad as you are both adults.

Whereas another person could see the situation totally different, they would feel bad because they would think that their best friend was really worried.

The famous question about perspective, “Is the glass half empty or half full?”. The fact is that the glass has been filled half way. The story is whether the glass is half full or empty.

 

The point I’m trying to make, Is there are the FACTS and then there is the STORY. And you choose the story depending on your PERSPECTIVE on the facts.

You can choose the way you feel about certain situations it is your choice. But to live a happier life you should always create a positive story.
My challenge for you is to look back on your past where you have memories that cause you pain and anger and change your perspective on it. Because maybe that memory that caused you pain and anger, may have made you a much stronger person or possibly taught you a valuable life lesson. Just don’t hold grudges or feel hatred as it takes a lot of your energy, it can sometimes get in the way of you doing the things that you want to do.

A ROUTINE FOR A POSITIVE MINDSET

The beginning of a path to a success begins with your mindset. Ever heard of the law of attraction? I can tell you that it is real, and there are so many successful people that are living proof of it. It all starts with getting the right mindset.

A lot of us struggle with motivation, self love, overcoming fear, staying positive, making things a natural habit, and finding out what you want to do in life. All these things blocking your path to success. A change of mindset can help eliminate any walls blocking your path.

We all have a precious gift, life. Life is a beautiful gift and you are in control of it, we are able to live the life we want to live. I’m sure we can agree it is not that simple so lets start small.

THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR ROUTINE STARTS

I’m guilty of having a browse on my phone until I’m ready to fall asleep. The best thing you can do for yourself is listen to motivational speakers before going to sleep. Or tell yourself and believe you’re going to have a good day at work no matter what life throws at you.

The goal is to prepare yourself for a good day and think positive thoughts. Most likely if you go to sleep with happy thoughts you’ll wake up with happy thoughts.

MORNING ROUTINE

The hardest challenge for me when waking up in the morning is getting out of my bed. I have resolved that issue by having my alarm far away from my bed so that I am forced to get out of bed.

Exercise is the key to removing the negative thoughts. I’m not saying you need to go out for a morning run early hours of the morning. A 20 minute work out in your home is enough to get your blood circulating.

How does exercise help with a positive mindset ? When you exercise your body produces endorphins. You start to feel good about yourself. It creates a happy feeling, the endorphins gives you this positive energy. I’m no fitness pro but whenever I exercise my self-esteem goes up and I get a positive outlook on life.

MAKE HEALTHY HABITS

Lack of motivation can slow us down from doing the things we want a need to do. Make a habit or writing down tasks you need to do. Make a habit of writing goals you want to achieve. Place your list of tasks and goals in a place where you will see it everyday. The best place for me is the fridge as I’m always eating.

Make a habit of spending less time with people that bring you down, complain everyday. Run away from the soul suckers as they have you feeling empty inside and they don’t contribute anything positive to your life.

Make a habit of surrounding yourself with the people that inspire you, make you happy and respect you. Energies are contagious so make the habit to spend time with people with a positive energy.

AN HOUR A DAY

An hour a day doesn’t seem like much but a lot of people struggle to get an hour just for themselves. Getting to know yourself is important. There was a stage where I did not know myself, you end up feeling lost. Spend an hour a day discovering your passions, talents or working towards your goals. Your hour could consist of painting, writing, going for walks in the park, learning a different language, pretty much anything you want to do. It doesn’t even have to be an hour it could be shorter of longer. The point is to make time for yourself.

When you start spending an hour a day getting to know yourself. It leads to self love and once you find self love. Naturally you are just happy.

LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT T O LIVE

What does success mean to you? Everyone has there own idea of what success is. It could be to spend more time with your family. Maybe travelling the world and being financially free. Success can be a lot of things. Once you put into practice all of the above, the quote “live the life you want to live” doesn’t seem so hard anymore. A positive mindset opens your eyes and makes you see that dreams can be your reality.
